Muay Thai Kickboxing is a traditional martial art from Thailand known as “the art of eight limbs” because it uses punches, kicks, elbows, and knees to strike opponents. It combines powerful stand-up striking with clinch fighting and sweeps, making it one of the most effective striking systems in the world.

Muay Thai Fundamentals

Our Beginner Muay Thai class at GTGym is the perfect starting point for anyone new to striking. Whether you're training for fitness, self-defense, or to eventually compete, this class builds a strong foundation in proper technique, balance, and conditioning.

What to Expect:

  • Fundamentals – Learn basic stance, footwork, punches, kicks, knees, and elbows

  • Drills – Partner and bag drills to develop timing, accuracy, and control

  • Pad Work – Controlled combinations on focus mitts and Thai pads

  • Conditioning – Bodyweight circuits and core work to build endurance

  • Respect & Discipline – Traditional Muay Thai culture and class etiquette

 

No experience is necessary. Coaches guide students step-by-step, ensuring safe and proper technique. This class is beginner-friendly, supportive, and a great way to build confidence while learning one of the world’s most respected striking arts.

MMA Striking- Fight Team 

The MMA Striking Fight Team session at GTGym is a high-level, competition-focused class built for fighters preparing for amateur or professional MMA bouts. This class blends striking techniques from Muay Thai, Boxing, and Kickboxing with MMA-specific adaptations for the cage.

Class Highlights:

  • Striking for MMA – Punch-kick combinations tailored for MMA range, stance, and tempo

  • Cage Work – Striking and clinching against the wall, dirty boxing, and takedown defense

  • Situational Drills – Pressure drills, striking off sprawls, and scrambles

  • Sparring Rounds – Technical sparring with controlled intensity, including cage rounds

  • Conditioning & Recovery – Fight-paced rounds followed by cooldown and breathwork

This session is designed for active or aspiring MMA fighters. Athletes are expected to bring a strong work ethic, full gear, and a commitment to growth. Coaches emphasize strategy, timing, and composure under pressure — the keys to landing clean shots and staying safe in a fight.
